About Uncle Joe's

Uncle Joe's is a family business based in Marlborough, New Zealand - a region with a rich resource of deep alluvial, free draining soils on the Wairau plains. The walnut trees around Marlborough are a landmark left by past generations of settlers who planted these nut trees with great vision. These old walnut giants produce a range of kernel varieties which are the key to some unique flavours enjoyed in our products. 

We also grow Ennis and Barcelona varieties of hazelnut in our orchard. Ennis is not widely grown in New Zealand, but is a wonderful table nut chosen for its rich flavour.

Uncle Joe’s cracks walnuts and hazelnuts daily, fresh to order, and we are proud to distribute our award winning quality products around New Zealand.

We partner with a cold pressing company and have developed a range of seed oils to add alongside our walnut and hazelnut oils. These include flax, grape and mustard that have proven to be very popular in gluten free foods.

All nuts and seeds are 100% New Zealand grown, 100% natural with no added products, and cold pressed for their oils. We also mill the pellets of these nut and seed oil pressings to produce fine flours that add a variety of flavours to the gluten free market.
